Sigríður Magnúsdóttir
Watercolour drawing of Icelandic woman in her bridal dress, with a Krókfaldur headdress. Used for the engraving in William Jackson Hooker, Journal of a tour in Iceland, in the summer of 1809 (1811). The woman is believed to be Sigríður Magnúsdóttir, wife of Ólafur Stephensen, District Governor of Iceland. Signed: 'Jno. Cleveley Junr. Delint. 1772' (bottom left). Title inscribed in pencil below drawing.
